How a visit works

StayFlow for language. Athena for the chart. Until API write-back is approved, paste or attach the summary by hand.

Doctor login

After sign-in, type the real patient’s first and last name. This is a StayFlow test login — the chart itself stays in athenaNet.

Run the visit

  1. Sign in → type the patient name → In the room or Phone.
  2. Translate = talk in the room with interpretation.Record = capture the whole visit in English, then the summary is created when you stop. Phone = two numbers, live interpretation. Check consent. Leave this tab open.
  3. When the call ends, the visit summary appears from the conversation. Review it. Then Download / Print PDF (Save as PDF) and/or Save / copy (SOAP onto the clipboard).

Put it in Athena by hand (for now)

  1. Open athenaNet and find the real patient (not the StayFlow test login).
  2. Open today’s encounter / visit.
  3. Note: paste the clinician SOAP into the visit note (Assessment & Plan or free-text progress note). Edit, then sign as you normally would.
  4. PDF: Documents → Add document → upload the After Visit Summary PDF (clinical / miscellaneous). Use a class your practice already uses for visit summaries so it can show in the chart and, if configured, the patient portal.
  5. Do not treat the StayFlow draft as signed until you review it in Athena.
